OUT AND ABOUT IN GHANA!! -- 6 WEEKS OF ACTIVITIES

I have to admit, it has taken us quite a long time to update this page. We have no excuse, only apologies. Though work has taken a lot of our attention at team ktaag lately, we consider the clients who visit our website and read our blogs as part of our work too. Thousands apologies!

These past 6weeks have been exciting for us at Ktaag. Team Ktaag pretty much spent the past 6weeks viewing sites, from Southern Ghana to the North. The past 6weeks saw us running from one meeting to the next. The past 6weeks saw us having problems with “land guards” and the Police. The past 6weeks saw us visiting hospitals to take care of our workers who were hurt by “land guard” madness. The past 6 weeks has seen us meeting lawyers and initiating litigation processes on behalf of our clients. In all, the past 6weeks has been our teacher and has taught us a lot. It has taught us how to go about land acquisition and how to protect and keep your property safe from all the madness and chaos associated with it. This we have decided to offer to our clients free of charge.

• Make sure you personally negotiate for your property.

• Make sure you independently verify if the property you are buying really belongs to the one selling it to you and is registered in his or her name.

• Make sure you personally initiate or be part of the process to register the property in your name

• Make sure you have all the paper work by close of your agreement or purchase.

• Make sure to verify at the lands registry if the property is indeed registered to you.

• On a safer side, make sure you start something on your property immediately.

• And lastly, should you face any problem and its getting out of hand and the police starts dragging their feet seek a lawyer’s opinion.

Service plots are the best, though I cannot vouch for the buildings these real estate firms construct.

I ask myself if its only in Greater Accra that we go through this madness just to protect our properties. It only begins when people become greedy and others selfish. Investing in lands is very profitable and a good venture, therefore people must do due diligence when parting with their money.
